The Saw Doctors are a folk-rock band from Tuam, County Galway in the west of Ireland.
Taking their name from itinerant craftsmen who once traveled from sawmill to sawmill sharpening and repairing saws, the Saw Doctors have a fervent following, especially in Ireland and among Irish-Americans in the United States. They hold the record for Ireland's biggest-selling single of all time, "I Useta Lover," which topped the Irish charts for nine weeks in 1990.
The following year brought another #1 record, "The Hay Wrap", before a seventeen year drought was brought to an end on 17 October 2008 with their cover of "About You Now" released in aid of a cystic fibrosis charity after it was first performed as a dare on The Podge and Rodge Show. The single raised €10,000.

It seems there is a new Irish rock guitar hero emerging from Carrickfergus.
Simon McBride’s talents as a guitarist are undeniable. At just 15, He was Guitarist Magazine’s Young Guitarist of the Year. Soon after that, he was touring the world with bands and artists as diverse as Savage (Vivian Campbell/Def Leppard) and Grammy-nominated Andrew Strong (Commitments).

On his ’08 debut CD ‘Rich Man Falling’ Simon unveils a powerful singing voice and real gift for song writing and arranging. This summer he has played festivals in Holland, France and England, and now returns to home territory (literally, he lives a few miles from the castle). Simon is endorsed by PRS Guitars and Hughes & Kettner amplifiers.
